Taïm (meaning ‘tasty’ in Hebrew) is a Mediterranean-oriented food joint founded by two-time James Beard Award recipient and Food Network’s ‘Chopped’ winning contestant, Einat Admony. Their original storefront was established near Waverly Place in the West Village, New York City, sometime in 2005. (With little room for accommodation, mind you.) Fast-forward almost two decades to December 2021: their 1st Brooklyn food chain, located in Park Slope, opens for business.

[Yes, this is another Park Slope joint.]
Found between 10th and 9th Street (341 7th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215), not far from the F and G trains. Adjoined to the ‘Bohemian Grove’ of its neighborhood, Taïm makes our list of places to love and grub. According to the establishment, the idea was to run a falafel-specialized eatery; in turn, Taïm’s menu expanded to include Shawarma, bowls, and various ‘create-your-own’ options. The establishment’s bold mission is to eliminate the use of microwaves and freezers in the kitchen. This is provided to ensure one can wholesomely enjoy the meal and savor every bite of freshly prepared meals.

We’ve stopped into their restaurant maybe three times already, and each visit surpasses the last. The signature ‘OG Falafel Pita’ is among their vegetarian options and our favorite. Also, they use a distinct list of 18 ingredients from around the world. This makes each bite phenomenally delicious.
We rate Taïm a 5 out of 5 for craftiness and genuine preparation of meals and drinks! (Try the Ginger Mint Lemonade while you’re at it.)
In addition to being a ‘walk-in’, they offer an app and a webpage for ordering pickup or takeout! Visit them while the $5 Lavash special is available. Lailah tov.
