An Editor’s Voice: Continuums and Resolution

An Editor’s Voice: Continuums and Resolution

1st official Quarter

Introduction Welcoming the New Year…

Happy New Year from us, Autem Today™, and welcome to a new season of NECTR Blog. Our thanks and nods to you and yours, each and every one who’ve read/will have read our article[s] along the way! Especially our ‘An Editor’s Voice’ segments, for these constitute personal marker points. We decided to take a mini-vacation sometime in mid-December. It helps clarify ‘what’ needs to get done, in terms of being a company, not as an artist or even a curator. Since New Year’s Day last year, January 1st, 2025, our only resolution was to implement a daily incentive. What do we mean?  For every day since the start of January 1st, 2025 (AD.), we’ve diligently done at least one thing, something, anything, either production-wise, publication-wise, or NECTR/NYCTR content-wise. The results?

  • Over 14,000 downloads on ‘Fairytale. The Publications‘ Catalogs 1 and 2.
  • Honing the audio engineering/post-production aspect of our music division.
  • A brand new project, ‘Count.’ an idea allowing us to tinker with AI visuals thanks to Grok, and of course, publications, exclusively available on Medium. (We have no official connection with them; sadly, we only have a desire to cultivate some sort of side writing project via their platform.)
  • An LLC and a soon-to-be Trademarked Company, ‘Autem Today™’
  • A variety of personal achievements we aren’t able to recollect at the present moment.
Trademark Class 41
Trademark Class 8

Now, what does THAT mean? We are now open for business and have also become taxpayers. We wish 2026 (AD.) to be a year of newfound vitality and possibilities. Virtues, too, we hope it brings to NECTR’s Q1 programming and its future audience alike.

Continuums

(Q Zero (2016-Aug. 2025)  and Q1 Program 2026 [January-March] and the ‘Voyages’ of a Solopreneur)

After about a decade of persistence since Label Launch (2016), we have begun to make progress. After almost ten years of persistence since Label Launch (2016), we are debuting as a multimedia company. We aren’t strictly a music-only or music production-only company anymore. Something once planned and foretold by original agendas (Somewhere’s deep in Nowhere’sland, let my draft writes glow.) Now, things have evolved with the adaptation of current ‘toolsets.’

We consider the period from the 2016 launch of Autem Today™ to late August 2025 as Q Zero. Just before or around the time of legitimizing Autem Today LLC. This is the most critical time and potent one for us from here on out.

Our Q Zero registry began sometime in late 2016, with the acquisition of https://autemtoday.com, https://benniecastle.com, and NewCulture.Online and Stayverb Clothing, an on-demand printed apparel brand with original graphic designs by us. Blender 3D, Reason music production program, and WordPress had taken over our efforts. To tell the truth, the original purpose of the AutemToday.com domain was to showcase other people’s work, projects, and events. Many of the skills we gained were learned and applied along the way; in these first few projects, the intent and the process were very much crude. Many of the skills we gained were learned and applied along the way; some weren’t fully realized yet.

From 2017 til 2019…

The New Culture Blog and BennieCastle.com, a calisthenics- and paleo-friendly informational blog, both dissolved. Autem Today remains. Even reviews. 2019 was the year of content creation and honing audio engineering skills. Our old workstation likely contains over 250 original instrumentals and 2-5 albums’ worth of catalog. This was the year of Pyxis and Neon Graphite’s conception; predecessors of ‘Fairytale. the Franchise.’
COVID-19 happened, and much got tucked away or worked on privately.

From 2020-2023

PYXIS and Neon Graphite were in full-swing production mode; we had original music, artwork, and photography, websites, and, most recently, ebooks and publications. Many works were still unwrapped and uncohesive.

2024-July 2025

marks the start of self-mastery. By now, curation is no longer a quizical process but an extremely fluid one. We formed an LLC and added ourselves to the payroll. The ability to write original music scores or craft a short story becomes child’s play, while utilizing the skill sets of a business owner, marketer, post-production manager, and web developer, in effect, and put to use.

Resolution

Idea vs. Product – Intellectual Property vs. Merchandise

The idea of ‘one song’ or ‘one show’ manifests as ‘one franchise’ or ‘one niche-rich website’ in our latest project, ‘Fairytale.‘ A sandbox approach with its curation elements, while retaining a clear, necessary structure. Particularly when it comes to showcasing or technical scenarios. A perfect example, Count. or NECTR BLOG. Most of the timepieces, eateries, and colognes we review/ we purchase/visit are for the sake of telling time while at work/creating writing content we’re fully interested in. Never to gloat or to gain specified attention.

The invention of the phone proved to be man’s worst enemy once ink and paper appeared. Or for the gratification of fashion senses/off a whim. Remember, this ‘Fairytale.’ project bloomed from a jest of a photography album. The frustrations of not being able to access prior works for prior projects in a ‘physically’ accessible way were the birth pangs that led to our current outlet platform, ‘Fairytale.’ The NECTR Blog is what we considered to be the ‘bloomed idea’ from our original conceptions, like New Culture and BennieCastle.com

Turing Idea into Product – Words to Downloadable Content

To advance the Publication division further along the path we originally planned, a four-part cataloged work has revealed the disadvantages of being advantageous. It takes time to make meaningful work. We know that and have always. That’s what we’re writing for, not for a pick-me-up or for let-me-downs. Yet in between the time of crafting publications 3-5, we realized the silver lining in sci-fi manuscripts. The ability to update and modify a release (Catalog 001 2.0 updates) brings our future hopes and dreams of navigating publications into their own worlds and own stories.

A way to expand them so that future interns or outsourced freelancers can take the helm. With six publications to date, we can sit back, promote, and relax, then gauge the next phase and avoid time constraints. What we mapped out for catalog 003, ‘A Means to an End,’ will, ironically, clarify how to branch an idea and advance it further, or conclude certain stories/narratives.

Bringing an Idea to Life

Beyond recognizing the need for pace and the desire to achieve potency, Squeeze Day, our next release, was conceived while working on a completely different project, many years ago. It had the same focus on e-books and music recordings (PYXIS), but lacked heart. It couldn’t breathe for itself, and definitely couldn’t ‘bleed’ either. It was stagnant, a one-off story with the hopes of getting on someone else’s platform. But in that time since, it has much more than just a heart; now it has a brain. Meaning it has a foundation to nest on, then to stem and stand on its own, eventually. Showing potential of the ‘Fairytale’ franchise. We now reach the stage we had hoped for a few years back.

Giving meaning to the Idea

Our resolution, as of this year, as Autem Today LLC, is to craft original concepts and multifaceted works from authentic epiphanies. It is to craft works we enjoy and works we admire, and then create a financial influx for our business. Without material, even bad material, there’s no audience. So why waste time making bad material for a disinterested audience? We want great works and concepts for our niche audience. Concepts manufactured from authentic epiphanies. As of yet, the only non-organic elements in our works have been ‘Count.’s AI-generated videos created by Grok, in order to elevate the visual aspects of our publications. Everything else is made by us.

To up the ante, another resolution of ours is to be more consistent. Especially with Nectr Blog (web hosting doesn’t pay itself), and in posting new content. We would love to release two to five articles. perhaps as a steady way to archive what we do and what we would like from future NECTR Blog managers and content writers. It would be an excellent way to provide the type of material we’d appreciate. Anyway, with all that said and done, we wish you again a joyous New Year and prosperity.

Sincerely,

Castle.
