How To 001: Wind Fossil’s Flynn Automatic Watch

(NECTR Timepiece EXCLUSIVE BLOG POST)

Our last timepiece installment covered Fossil’s Flynn Automatic Watch (BQ 2092), a perfect watch for artists, writers, and ‘tinkers’ as we’d like to call them; folks who think their work out and create/craft/curate (whatever have you) with both hands and mind alike.

Mind you, enough time has elapsed since then, and we’d like to notch up the timepiece’s rating another .5 points after spending enough ‘time’ wearing it. We’ve wound it up, worn it down, taken showers with it on our wrists still, we even helped old ladies cross the street with it on, and to tell you the truth, the .5 point increase is well deserved!

Today’s post isn’t necessarily a review (unless you were to ask the old lady we’ve helped across the street about how handsome it makes us look), but it’s an informative blog post on HOW TO wind the automatic watch up, specifically, the Fossil Flynn Automatic Watch (BQ 2092)

STEP 001:

Place the Watch in front of you, face forward, then pull the crown outward.

Step 002:

Adjust the hour hand to the corresponding time but the minute hand, place it one or 2 minutes ahead prior to winding, (as it might be best practice, you’ll see why in step 003.)

Step 003:

Push the crown inward now and propell it counterclockwise. You should start to feel friction as you persist. Some would say to wind it 20-30 times fully in the given direction, we give no specific numbers just a suggestion of 1 to 2 minutes, or until friction begins to kick back… Enjoy!

Key Note:

Automatic watches like Fossil’s Flynn wind themselves up while the wearer is in motion. Although, we suggest you get in the habit of winding it yourself before hand.

This way, the wearer, will have the correct time – all the time.

As we mentioned in the review, it will tick away for a little over 30 hours once wound up properly. After that, one would require another session of doing so.
